Since the early 2000s, Hannah has been enjoying a London-based career as a freelance cellist, singer and music teacher. She has performed with ensembles and orchestras in venues such as the Wigmore Hall and the Cadogan Hall, and with bands and solo artists at venues including Ronnie Scotts and Century Club Soho. Hannah frequently works as a session cellist in the studio, most recently with singer Debi Doss (of The Kinks) and with producer Harry Coade on a world music project, The Heart of Marrakesh. Among Hannah’s many musical interests is cross-art collaborative projects and she recently performed in Handhold, directed by Cherie De Haven, in which she accompanied contemporary dancers with improvised cello. Hannah has recently joined new prog-rock band Storm Deva and is excited to see how this develops!
Hannah completed a Master’s degree in Music at Royal Holloway University of London while studying cello with Selma Gokcen. She then went on to become a post-graduate scholarship holder at the Royal College of Music, where she studied baroque cello with Catherine Rimer. More recently, Hannah embarked on a music teacher training course (PGCE) at the UCL Institute of Education. This kindled a passion for music education, and Hannah currently teaches at Monkey Music where she provides interactive music classes to babies and pre-school aged children.
